Julie Saves the Day!

Julie stopped by en route to one of her listings and surprised us with these adorable , soft squeaky toys and raw hide bones. Once the excitement over seeing Julie and trying to rip apart brand new animals, the terrible twosome became fixated on their new bones. Ahhh, some peace and quiet... But wait, Lola has begun to shred her bone apart, layer by layer, in an attempt to eat it faster. Never a dull moment.

Marchesa Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear

Marchesa can always be depended on to provide whimsical, red carpet-worthy frocks.

Lela Rose Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear

So far this is taking the cake as my favorite collection. The one thing I'm wondering about...the hair. I adore the side braid and may continue it in to the fall, but it was more of a spring/summer 2010 look. It has been used previously in other seasons, I question the choice...it certainly won't carry in to Spring 2011.

J. Mendel Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear

After seeing a sneak peek on a favorite blog, I knew I was going to love J. Mendel's Spring 2011 collection. Gilles Mendel was inspired by prima ballerinas. I'm sold.

Badgley Mischka Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear

I usually don't like Badgley Mischka because they tend to be a little... pageanty. This season however, they seem to have gone a more 70's with hints of Morocco-inspired rather than teased hair-inspired.

ADAM 2011 Spring Ready-to-Wear

I imagine this outfit being warn on a Spring day in some fabulous European coastal village. I'm still not convinced that the high-waisted 70's-inspired pants will work on me though...

This Weekend

Well, I unexpectedly got a three day weekend. I woke Friday morning in SO MUCH PAIN. My shoulder is clearly not okay. On top of that I had THE WORST MIGRAINE EVER! As you can imagine, it was quite a fun day.

Both shoulder and migraine are a little better today, although the migraine is still lingering which is unnerving. As for my shoulder...well, I am refusing to focus on the probable reality of the situation and am going to focus on healing. With any luck I'll somehow be able to heal it. (Yeah, yeah, it all sounds hippie-dippy-voodoo-ish.)

Today will be spent attempting to clean a little this morning, watching the Husky game, getting a visit from Mike's mom, Julie, since we weren't able to meet for lunch yesterday, then going for a facial at 5:00. I am SO excited for this facial! I had booked one for about a month ago with the woman I see for waxing (who I adore and trust immensely...plus she has this soothing aura). I got a notice in my e-mail earlier in the week about $50 facials and massages. I IMMEDIATELY called and booked a facial for this weekend. $50 still seems a little much, but seeing as they are regularly $100, I couldn't pass it up. My skin has also been completely freaking out lately and I'm hoping a good extraction and peel will calm things down (after undoubtedly flaring things up for about a week first). I am also starting to get more and more wrinkles and am starting to realize I need to start all of the fun anti-aging treatments so I won't have to start getting Botox at 25!

So that is today. When I get home tonight we will probably just hang out. I have two paintings waiting to be finished that I promised Mike I'd do these two weekends while he is gone. We will see...

I'm Told Summer is Over...

When summer gathers up her robes of glory,
And, like a dream, glides away.
- Sarah Helen Whitman

I say, "I'm told" because summer never quite began here. The consensus of this household seems to be, "Good riddance, let's quit pretending it's glorious outside and embrace the fall. (Mostly football.)" I asked Bowser how he felt about the end of summer and he looked at me and let out a big sigh. Agreed. Good riddance.

Bowser Cuteness

Bowser really stepped up his cuteness last night, case and point when he came up behind Mike on the couch to give him a wrap around hug.
